Crack addiction behavior may vary from person to person. However, there is some general crack addiction behavior that is common to all addicts. Someone who is a crack addict will experience paranoia, depression, anxiety, and mood swings. Being a regular user of this drug makes you adaptive to a paranoid way of life. Aside from its initial negative side effects, addicts are also vulnerable to its long term effects. Such effects include having problems with bodily functions, hallucinations, depressions, and delirium.

All too often, the process of crack addiction behavior goes something like this: The "soon to be crack addict" takes their first hit. Upon inhalation of this powerful drug, the users's body instantly begins the addiction process. The individual's mental and emotional being is soon to follow, but for now just their body suffers from the initial stages of crack addiction. After the first few times using the drug, their mind slowly starts the addiction process. This grows stronger and stronger until, mentally, the user believes that they cannot live without the drug. They are now a full fledged drug addict. Shortly after this occurs, crack takes complete control and they continually display crack addiction behavior.

Once the individual's emotions have been overridden by crack cocaine, they no longer feel like themselves without being intoxicated. When this occurs, they feel the need to use more crack just to feel normal. In order to get high they have to take an immense amount of the drug. Eventually, crack addiction behavior infiltrates all areas of their life. They can no longer function physically, emotionally, or mentally without crack.
